The Purpose of tonight's life group is to share testimonies and what you learned while at Fall Breakaway.
TESTIMONY - Witness or evidence;
When he comes on that day, he will receive glory from his holy people - praise from all who believe. And this includes you, for you believed what we told you about him. - 2 Thess. 1:10
Giving a public testimony of what God has done in our lives accomplishes a few things:
It gives all of the glory and attention to God and not towards ourselves.
It helps others hear about what happened to you in your own words. There is something very powerful about telling your story because when we celebrate the good things of God, hope is created in their hearts for more of the same in their lives as well.
It reminds us of the powerful moments that really happened to us. When the Lord provides for us, or heals us in our minds, emotions, and body, or when he answers a prayer that has been heavy on our hearts, we need to be reminded that the Lord has done great things for us!
At Fall Breakaway, the Lord touched and challenged your heart in some way. Whether it was during moments of prayer, worship, or maybe while in small group discussing the scriptures together, there was something that changed in you for the good. Have courage tonight to share with everyone as you go through the following discussion questions remembering just how great of a getaway we experienced together!
Scripture:
Read John 9 and discuss how the healed blind man didn't have all of the answers, but rather he did have a testimony!
Discussion Questions:
What happened?
What did you learn during this weekend?
What challenged you this weekend? What did you find uncomfortable? Why?
What changes will you make in your life, spiritually and physically, after fall breakaway? Why?
Who else, who's not in this room, will you tell your testimony from this weekend? How do you plan to tell them?
Have you thought about how much your testimony matters in helping others see Jesus more clearly?
Prayer Focus:
Pray for the person to your right asking Holy Spirit to remind them of all of the good things God has done in their lives, even during the hard times.
Pray that we as believers will have the intentionality and courage to share our salvation testimony with our friends as we live our lives on mission while in college.
